"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." Ephesians 4:11-12 As our students are finalized we look to you to bring our team before the Lord. Our students come from different backgrounds, struggles, gifts, culture, and schools. I plead with you to continue praying that as we serve side by side with our differences, that we may become one through His spirit. We will all be working in one accord looking to be of service to the community of St. Louis. As many of you know St. Louis has had riots in the past years as the city reacted to the ruling of Michael Brown shooting. The Michael Brown shooting was one of many sparks that generated the debate about the relationship between law enforcement and the African American community. As this debate went national the police use-of-force doctrine was in question. As you all know this divided a country between #blacklivesmatter and #bluelivesmatter. So I ask you to pray not only for unity among our group, but unity among the community which we will be serving and peace to be brought to a hurting city. We are sent to serve the city, not to choose a side. We will serve in a small way through projects with the many organisations you see on our home page, but I KNOW that God has a higher purpose for us for He has not sent us to where he is not already at work. We are simply along for the journey of his Will.
